#20 Isaac DeTurk
November 18 or 19, 1834 – March 16, 1896
Isaac DeTurk was one of the earliest wine producers in Sonoma County, planting vines as early as 1862. He constructed the still standing DeTurk Round Barn (8th and Donahue) in 1890 to house his race horses. His best-known horse was Anteeo, the fastest sulky racer for the 1885-1886 season. The building is now the symbol of the West End Historic District and is available for rentals.
