#19 The McDonald Family Plot

Here lies Col. Mark McDonald…that is one fact we can be sure of. There’s been a bit of a shake up about what sort of man Col. McDonald really was. Seems most of the biographical material on him relied on for decades was supplied by the man himself. But after painstaking research, a new picture of McDonald emerges.

He did make important and significant additions to Santa Rosa. But it became clear that the improvement of Santa Rosa was of little importance. Everything Col. McDonald did was to benefit his lifestyle and line his pockets.

In the end, the one-time champion for the city was defeated, his reputation in shambles. But his dream of a great avenue filled with the most important influencers in town came true and lives on.
